The Maastricht-based company recently <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.vegconom.de\/usa\/companies-and-portraits\/mosa-meats-announces-it-has-reduced-production-costs-by-88-times\/\">made huge steps<\/a> towards achieving its mission of reshaping global food systems by successfully developing <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.vegconom.de\/usa\/companies-and-portraits\/breaking-integriculture-inc-and-shiok-meats-pte-ltd-collaborate-to-scale-cell-based-shrimp-meat\/\">animal-free media<\/a> and reducing the cost of production by 88 times. Not just in Europe but across the globe, cell-based food startups have been experiencing breakthrough after breakthrough. Singapore became the first country in the world to <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.vegconom.de\/usa\/food-and-beverage\/eat-justs-cultured-chicken-launches-this-saturday-in-first-sale-of-cultured-meat\/\">approve cultivated meat for sale<\/a> just two months ago. Last week, Aleph Farms of Israel claimed to have cultivated the very <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.vegconom.de\/usa\/science\/the-rib-eye-revolution-aleph-farms-and-technion-introduce-first-cultured-thick-cut-steak\/\">first ribeye steak<\/a>, and last week also saw cellbased <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.vegconom.de\/usa\/market-and-trends\/alt-protein-continues-in-south-korea-cultured-meat-developments-plant-based-whopper-arrives\/\">developments coming from South Korea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mosa Meat\u2019s Series B funding round was led by <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.vegconom.de\/usa\/companies-and-portraits\/blue-horizon-ventures-attracts-e183-million-for-a-plant-and-cell-based-future\/\">Blue Horizon Ventures<\/a>, the food tech fund headed by <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.vegconom.de\/usa\/interviews\/blue-horizon-ventures-supporting-the-movement-towards-a-more-sustainable-food-system-through-innovation-technology-and-entrepreneurship\/\">Michael Kleindl<\/a>.
